Team Elevate — Event Media Coverage Case Study

Project Overview

Team Elevate is a competitive cycling team focused on performance, teamwork, and athlete development. For this project, I served as the media team during a multi-day team event from December 5–8, providing full photo and video coverage throughout the weekend.

The objective was to document the team’s experience in real time, capture authentic moments on and off the bike, and deliver high-quality visual assets that Team Elevate could use for promotion, storytelling, and brand growth.

Objectives

  • Capture authentic, behind-the-scenes moments of the team

  • Document the energy, intensity, and camaraderie of a race weekend

  • Provide Team Elevate with professional photo and video assets

  • Create content that reflects both performance and personality

  • Deliver ready-to-use media for social platforms and marketing

Role & Responsibilities

As the dedicated media team for the weekend, responsibilities included:

  • Following the team throughout the event across multiple days

  • Capturing action shots, lifestyle moments, and candid interactions

  • Filming short-form and cinematic video content

  • Adapting quickly to changing schedules, locations, and lighting conditions

  • Ensuring consistent visual storytelling across all deliverables

  • Delivered 2 final edited videos summarizing the weekend

  • Videos were structured to highlight team culture, intensity, and momentum

Creative Approach

The creative direction prioritized storytelling and realism. Instead of staged content, the focus was on:

  • Natural moments between teammates

  • Real Tranning cap emotions

  • The rhythm of a training weekend

The goal was to make viewers feel like they were part of the team experience.

Content Style

  • Fast-paced action mixed with cinematic sequences

  • Clean color grading to maintain consistency

  • Minimal overlays to keep focus on the athletes

  • Vertical-friendly framing for social media use

  • 2 highlight videos capturing the full weekend experience

  • ~50 edited photos ready for social media and marketing use

  • Content suitable for Instagram, team announcements, and sponsor visibility

Results & Impact

  • Provided Team Elevate with a complete visual recap of the event

  • Strengthened the team’s content library for future promotion

  • Captured authentic moments that reflect team culture

  • Delivered versatile assets usable across multiple platforms

Tools & Platforms Used

  • Cameras: Professional photo & video equipment

  • Editing: Final Cut Pro / Adobe Premiere Pro

  • Photo Editing: Adobe Lightroom

  • Platforms: Instagram, team media channels

Conclusion

This project demonstrates the value of real-time event media coverage for sports teams. By embedding with Team Elevate for the entire weekend, I was able to capture not just results, but the story, energy, and unity behind the performance.

This case study highlights my ability to work in fast-paced environments, adapt quickly, and deliver polished photo and video content that elevates a team’s brand and presence.
